The Albemarle County real estate market experienced an increase in home sales in May 2011.
A total of 128 homes sold in May compared to 108 homes in April.
57.8% of Albemarle County home sales in May occurred in the below $300,000 range. The $300,000 – $999,999 price range was the second most active price range with 39.8% of Albemarle County home sales. 10 Albemarle County foreclosures and 6 Albemarle County short sales sold. Distressed property sales made up 12.5% of the Albemarle County real estate market in May.
Based on the market absorption trend the Albemarle County real estate market is in a buyer’s market.
